Jersey Warriors – Jersey’s First Official Dodgeball Club!
Jersey Warriors are the first official dodgeball club to be established in Jersey – an exciting milestone that has even recently been recognised by an ITV feature! As a junior club based on the values of empowerment, inclusivity, and healthy competition, Jersey Warriors are helping to bring dodgeball to life for children on the Island. When & Why Was the Club Created?Planning for Jersey Warriors began in June 2022, and the club officially launched in October 2022. The club was founded by Graeme Fitchett, who serves as the Club Manager and Head Coach.
The goal was simple: to introduce new sporting opportunities to Jersey that were underrepresented on the Island. Through market research, it became clear that dodgeball was a sport that children wanted to play but lacked opportunities for participation. From there, Jersey Warriors Dodgeball was born.
How Does It Feel to Be Jersey’s First Official Dodgeball Club?"It feels amazing! We’re so excited to be the first official dodgeball club on the Island. We hope that, through the growth and development of Jersey Warriors, we can inspire others on the Island to set up their own clubs and help grow the sport for the whole community."
What’s Special About Dodgeball?As coaches, we love the many benefits the sport offers: empowerment, development, friendships, inclusivity, and more.
Children in our programme enjoy the adrenaline, teamwork, and challenge of dodging and blocking throws, improving their reactions, and learning timing through gameplay. Dodgeball is a sport that not only keeps children fit and active but also builds confidence and social development.
The Current Dodgeball Landscape in JerseyWhile dodgeball opportunities exist in Jersey, the sport is mostly limited to children through PE classes and after-school clubs. Unfortunately, there are currently no opportunities for adults to regularly participate. Jersey Warriors is aiming to fill this gap and offer opportunities for both juniors and adults to become part of this exciting sport.
Our Members & Our GrowthCurrently, Jersey Warriors has around 20 officially registered members with British Dodgeball, aged between 4 and 12 years old. Additionally, approximately 30 children regularly participate in weekly sessions. We maintain a balanced gender ratio of 60% boys and 40% girls.
The club has grown rapidly, expanding to two locations and delivering five regular weekly sessions to meet demand and create opportunities for all participants.
Who’s Welcome at Jersey Warriors?The answer is simple: EVERYONE! Dodgeball is an inclusive sport that promotes teamwork, confidence, and healthy competition. We’re looking to attract as many participants as possible, both children and adults, to join this exciting journey.
What Kind of Atmosphere Do We Foster?We’re committed to creating positive, supportive, and inclusive environments in every session. While healthy competition is at the heart of our sessions, we also focus on social cohesion, confidence-building, and personal development.
Who Delivers the Sessions?Currently, all sessions and club management are led by Graeme Fitchett, with plans in place to expand the coaching team as the club continues to grow. We’ve recently welcomed our first voluntary coach, Adam Horner, and are excited to bring on more coaching talent in the near future.
Where Do We See Jersey Warriors in the Next 5 Years?We have ambitious goals for the next 5 years:

- Establish and grow adult dodgeball squads.
- Host and manage local dodgeball competitions for both juniors and adults.
