Established in 2022 by Gaz and Martyn, both dedicated members of Centrepoint, Wild By Nature is a venture born out of a passion for fostering outdoor experiences. Gaz, a certified bushcraft practitioner, and Martyn, an advanced forest school practitioner, bring a unique blend of expertise to bridge the gap between bushcraft and forest school. Operating in Jersey, we are committed to providing a distinctive opportunity for both children and adults.
Aligned with the principles of the UNCRC, we prioritize children's rights, particularly their right to relax and play. Recognizing the pivotal role of the outdoors in children's growth and development, we have crafted a program that facilitates learning through play. Our current base on a private site has proven to be a fantastic space, where children actively participate in activities like building a fire pit, constructing dens, and engaging with tools.
Research has even suggested that outdoor learning boosts confidence, social skills, communication, motivation, physical skills, knowledge, and understanding. It has also been found to boost children's self-esteem, self-confidence, ability to work cooperatively, and positive attitude to learning.
In our commitment to education, we are proud to collaborate with a local primary school, offering enriching forest school sessions. As part of our progressive approach, we are introducing a tool license for children, empowering them with the essential skills for outdoor fire schools and bushcraft. Join us at Wild By Nature as we create memorable outdoor experiences that contribute to the holistic development of individuals.
